Following last year’s record-breaking exhibition with us at The Frame Gallery, world famous wildlife artist, Pip McGarry, is back in Odiham and hoping to smash artwork sales of over £100,000.
The Big Five runs from October 2-18 2015. The artist will unveil his eagerly anticipated collection of new oil paintings, inspired by months spent in the African bush, and years of being around big cats at Hampshire’s Marwell Zoo, where Pip is ‘Artist in Residence’.
Subjects will include incredible depictions of big cats: cheetah, leopard, lion, tiger, jaguar and snow leopard; wild animals such as zebra, buffalo, ostrich and elephant, and by popular demand, a series of baby animals. At the recent opening of Pip’s purpose built art gallery at Marwell Zoo, which exclusively houses his work, one painting sold for an astonishing £48,000.
The 2014 exhibition at The Frame was Pip’s second most successful solo exhibition to reach six figure sales – an astonishing result for a small, rural gallery. To achieve a record-breaking success at a small village gallery outside London is, as Pip puts it, “truly extraordinary”.
“The Frame Gallery is one of the few galleries I will be working with outside of Marwell. I’m really looking forward to showcasing my latest work in October, and hopefully beating last year’s record.”
We are confident this year’s exhibition will be even better. Having an artist of Pip’s magnitude at the gallery will always draw people from across the country – great news for a village the size of Odiham. Interest in Pip’s paintings have really helped to put our lovely corner of Hampshire on the art buying map.
