With his arrival imminent, we cannot contain our excitement about the unique style Paul Dolman will bring to The Frame on the 29th April. He promises ‘Atmospheric landscapes which capture light and motion, painted from my heart’, and we are positive he will deliver.
Paul Dolman was born in Derbyshire and moved with his parents to Devon where he collected a series of awards as a Junior Artist. His first job was as a pottery designer and he quickly moved on to become an illustrator for the South Devon Scene, a local newspaper based in the internationally renowned art college at Darlington Hall near Totnes in Devon. Paul became an immediate success, and was commissioned to produce pen and ink drawings for clients in the publishing industry. Paul is passionate about painting, and in recent years has moved towards oil and pastels, creating wonderfully atmospheric and vivid landscapes full of life and drama.
Something which makes Paul an outstanding artist is his unique and identifiable style which separates him from many others. His technique is sophisticated and singular, providing a great depth to his work that is continually evolving. The quality of his work is testament to his commitment and integrity. He is a true professional.
Paul’s work has achieved international recognition for its quality, clarity, dramatic light and atmosphere. His paintings hang in locations from New York and Nantucket, to Australia and New Zealand, to name but a few.
Paul began his career as a working artist five years ago, and is still developing his ‘Romanticism’ style. Read his recent interview with us here.
Paul’s exhibition runs from Friday 29th April until Saturday 14th May 2016. There will be a preview evening at The Gallery from 5:30pm on Friday 29th April.
