Following the audacious theft of his oil paintings from Marwell Zoological Park in Hampshire in December 2016, the internationally recognised wildlife artist Pip McGarry returns to us at The Frame Gallery in Odiham this April, to hold his first exhibition since the theft.
Pip is famed for his paintings of big cats and African animals, which are painted from scenes he witnessed whilst on safari in the remote wilderness areas of Tanzania, Kenya and Botswana. His paintings have been sold for up to £80,000.00 and over fifty of his works have been successfully sold at auction, including Christies and Sotheby’s auctioneers.
The self-taught artist is from Andover in Hampshire, but spends much of his time in Africa and has led nearly thirty safaris for artists and photographers to date. He also conducts regular field trips to Africa to study the wildlife and environment, which he uses in his extra-ordinary paintings.
Pip commented: “The Frame Gallery is an outstanding gallery and I could not ask for a better location to host my first exhibition since the theft at Marwell”
Pip’s exhibitions are always the highlight of our events calendar. His work is always popular, and we are hoping to break the record-breaking sales we achieved in previous exhibitions of his work here.
Pip’s highly anticipated exhibition at The Frame Gallery runs from Friday 28th April until Sunday 19th May 2017. Please call us on 01256 701082 if you would like to know more about Pip McGarry.
