Heavenly reflections by Sarah Pye. 107 x 107 cm Framed original acrylic on canvas.
I’ve felt myself swinging into autumn mode in the last couple of weeks, the change in temperature and slightly darker evenings mean the warm burnished oranges of a beech woodland seem to be foremost in my mind.
Although I am always drawn to the vibrant colours and light of a summer coastal scene, or wildflower meadow, there is something cosy about hunkering down with tea and crumpets in the autumn and perhaps slowing up a little for the winter months.
Inspired by nature, colour and light. Working on a large scale, many layers of acrylic paint are dropped onto each canvas, building up a mirage of dancing drops, hoping to create a vivid impressionist scene. Depicting nature in all her glorious colour, always with a lively degree of imagination and beyond pictorial representation.Encouraging the mind to explore a little further than the eyes initially see.
