Aron Gadd is one of the leading animal portrait artists in the UK, with nearly 30 years experience in producing attractive and accurate studies of horses, family pets and country homes.
Born in London in 1965, He started a career in engineering but soon realised that art was his passion and left to follow a different path. He is now based in Hampshire but covers most parts of the country.
Aron is a self-taught artist whose palette consists of over 100 Artists-Quality colour pencils. With no formal training he developed an unique way of working and perfected his exceptional style. He also mentors other artists who ask for guidance.
His sympathetic interpretation of equestrian subjects has prompted commissions of Desert Orchid, and Grand National winners, Red Rum, Aldaniti and West Tip.
His horse portraits have been purchased by owners, trainers and racing enthusiasts all over the world.
He has worked for rock stars and royalty, but the bulk of his work remains family pets and horses.
Asked how he manages to achieve the sense of character and feeling that his drawings emit, he puts it down to an empathy with animals, “I feel it is important to bring out the personality and soul of an animal, not just a likeness from a photograph.”
“An animal portrait is a wonderful way to remember a treasured member of the family, and can be a unique and personal gift for a loved one that will be a joy for years to come…”
