Stephen Citynskyj

Stephen is a British artist who produces portraits, figures and landscapes.

Among recent commissions is a Madonna and Child icon painting for Saint Mark’s Church in Florence. Stephen exhibited in the UK and Italy last year, including a one-week solo exhibition in Florence, and will be exhibiting again later this month in Florence.

In 2012, Stephen quit a 30-year career in technical publishing and graphics, and moved to Italy to begin three years of studying realist fine art at The Angel Academy of Art in Florence.

Between 2012 and 2015 he had a one-week solo exhibition of his work in Florence. He also studied at The Angel Academy of Art in Florence, whilst exhibiting in the UK.

In 2016 Stephen co-founded an art-based charity in Florence. That project will be expanded to cover all of Tuscany in 2018. He exhibited artworks at the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, one of the main museums in Florence, and also exhibited in the UK.

Stephen recently completed a commission by the Church of England (Diocese of Europe) to paint a Madonna and Child altar icon for Saint Mark’s Church in Florence. In March-April of this year, his work will be exhibited at a retrospective show and sale of Angel Academy alumni in Florence.

In July, he plans to appear at the BBC Countryfile Show at Blenheim Palace, and in August, Stephen will be the headline artist at the Dame Catherine summer exhibition and sale, where he has exhibited many times. In September he will be selling artworks and demonstrating painting at Melbourne Festival.
