We are so excited and happy to welcome back the vibrant and stunning works by Sarah Pye, bringing in spring and reminding us summer is just around the corner! From the 1st May for three weeks, Sarah Pye’s work will adorn the walls at The Gallery.
Living and working on the river in Henley-on-Thames, Sarah is inspired by nature, colour and light. She works on a large scale using acrylic paint; dropping many layers on to canvas, building up a mirage of dancing drops. She aims to create a vivid impressionist scene that depicts nature in all its glory, always with a lively degree of imagination. Sarah encourages the viewers of her pieces to let their minds wander and explore a little further than the eyes initially see…
Sarah is a continually-evolving artist and has now been painting for ten years, and professionally for four years. Sarah draws inspiration from her gardening days, deriving immense pleasure from creating wild, loose landscapes and garden images with acrylic.
The Gallery will play host to two different collections from Sarah: ‘New Work’ and ‘Droplet Paintings’. Her work is available in a number of formats and sizes, and it would suit the majority of settings and could easily form the centrepiece in your home. There is always something new to see in a Sarah Pye piece, and the vigour and enthusiasm in the work will give you pleasure for years to come.
New Work – Alive with colour, life and a sense of freedom. Push your way through the wild flora of the natural world and a keen imagination. New pieces, painted freely and intuitively, exploring and expressing her personal artistic evolution, not to be contained or restrained but flowing in exciting new directions. Inks and acrylics on a large scale, used with knives, pipettes, and occasionally a brush, dripped, dribbled and squirted, allowed to run together and merge layer upon layer. Lose yourself in a summer wilderness…
Droplet Paintings – Many layers of dropped acrylics, built up to create a mirage of colour and light. Scenes of woodland views and distant panoramas in a contemporary impressionist style. Hoping to encourage your mind to explore a little further than your eyes initially see.
A selection of her pieces are already available to purchase in our online shop, and we have her Artist Profile for you to read online also. To meet the artist in person, The Frame is holding an Open Day on Friday 1st May from 5:30pm – 8pm. For more information contact the gallery on 01256 701082 or email: email@example.com
